SWAP · A HYGGE POWER CONCEPT

Power where and when you need it most.

SWAP explores a simpler way to access portable power: reserve a unit, collect it nearby, use it where needed, and return it. The kiosk station takes care of recharging.

SIMPLE FOR THE USER. VISIBLE TO THE OPERATOR.

Take the power. Leave the charging to us.

Choose a unit for EV charging and assistance, equipment, or everyday power. When you’re finished, return it to the kiosk. You do not need to recharge it—the station charges and prepares it for the next customer.

THE PREMISE

Power should be available where people already are.

At an airport, grocery store, home-improvement retailer, or other high-traffic destination, SWAP puts a portable power unit within reach—whether someone needs a few EV miles, a day of equipment power, or multi-day outage reserve.

One station. Site reserve and portable power, working together.

For hosts and operators, the concept combines managed charging, rental availability, and compatible site reserve in one location.

Station + site backup

The station holds portable power units ready for rental while also giving the retail center or host location a managed reserve for priority loads.

Portable power rental

A wheeled portable power system that can travel with its user, run electronics or equipment, and provide a controlled last-mile EV boost with the appropriate adapter.

Reservation + control app

Reserve a portable power unit for the time it will be needed—after a long trip, before an outage, or for an event—then choose EV boost, equipment, or everyday power.

Fleet operations

Operators can see inventory, health, location, charging status, service history, payments, and exceptions across every asset.

More value for the place that hosts it.

A SWAP kiosk could support backup energy for priority building loads, offset grid energy use during selected hours, and create opportunities for curtailment or demand-response earnings through eligible programs. Portable-power rentals could also add a customer service and a potential revenue source.

Site capability, available inventory, tariffs, program eligibility, and operating agreements determine which benefits a pilot can deliver.

Airports + EV access

A controlled last-mile EV boost when fixed chargers are occupied or unavailable, plus portable power where travelers need it.

Potential U.S. grocery and convenience destinations where people already park, shop, and may need a useful portable power rental.

Billion-dollar U.S. weather and climate disasters in 2024—a reminder that reserve, response, and flexible event power can share the same network.

What makes a first site work

Natural dwell time

Travelers, shoppers, and workers already spend time at the location.

A useful power gap

EV access, outage readiness, or temporary equipment power has a visible need.

An operating partner

The host can support service, access, and a credible customer experience.

Suitable site power

Space and an electrical connection that can support the proposed charging configuration.

Easy collection and return

A visible, accessible kiosk location with a clear route between the station and parking.

A measurable pilot

Agree on rental demand, equipment readiness, customer experience, and operating responsibilities.

WHY A DISTINCT CONCEPT

Different customer. Different operations. The same belief that power should feel simple.

SWAP is being explored separately from Hygge’s core home-energy platform because managed exchange requires dedicated market, service, asset, and compliance models.

Pilot SWAP where people already stop.

We are looking for retailers, airports, property operators, hardware partners, and strategic investors to launch a focused pilot.
